Porsche Design Mens Sport Watches

Everybody knows that Porsche Design is not just another run of the mill luxury brand. Apart from the range of mens sport watches they have created, the

world famous brand name also makes an appearance on a whole range of other men’s accessories. These include such items as leather goods, pens, luggage, and not to mention the highly sought after Porsche designer sunglasses range. And Porsche Design doesn’t share the famous marquee for no reason – the company was originally found by none other than the Grandson of Porsche’s original founder in 1972.

Mens sport watches have been a mainstay of Porsche design since back in 1973 and over the years the designs have had the distinction of holding many world firsts. These include designing the very first watch in the world that integrated a compass (1978) and in 1980 the first titanium chronograph.

Due to the lack of any delicate craftwork like details or engraving, and no appreciable component decorations, the Porsche design is not everyone’s idea of an appealing watch. These watches err very much on the side of minimalism and their mainstay is their functionality.

Porsche Design does not make many models of mens sport watches. One that does tick all the right boxes is the P6340 Automatic Chronograph, a watch which is part of the Flat Six collection. It has been intelligently designed and utilises a range of contemporary materials, offering a rather nice sporty design. It has a rather professional look to it and comes in white or black coloured dials. The chronograph counters contrast nicely, especially when the PVD coated models are used in their red/black combinations. The straps can come either as the traditional steel bracelet type, or as endurable rubber.

This watch is ideal for use in all conditions because of the legible markers that are fluorescent, and is very functional. The Automatic Chronograph watch measures just over 44mm across and sits a rather large 15mm off the wrist, so it definitely doesn’t fall into the modest range of timepieces. The watch is also water resistant to 120 metres.

The P6340 Automatic Chronograph is classed as one of the prestige mens sport watches available on the market, and comes about due to Porsche Design’s pursuit of perfection.
